Aldbourne Taxi Fares are kept as competitive as possible. Please telephone or email for an accurate quote. All Aldbourne Taxis are fitted with regulated meters of which fares are set by Wiltshire Council. All drivers are CRB checked by the Council as part of the licencing process.
Did you know that all private hire, chauffeur limosines and hackney cabs have to be licenced by the Council and a licenced driver to accept payment for transporting you? When payment exchanges hands this type of service is classed as 'hire and reward.' All licenced vehicles have to undergo enhanced MOT's and comply with other regulations as detailed by Wiltshire Council.
If you use your own vehicle to transport people for payment unlicenced this is illegal and you could find your vehicle being classed as having no insurance cover.
Unfortunately hire and reward insurance is becoming increasingly expensive to purchase and some insurance companies will tell you that even if you pay someone to drive your car, this also counts as hire and reward. If in doubt, double check. A genuine Licenced driver and company will be more than happy to show you they are licenced and insured.
All licenced drivers carry a photographic identification badge that has to be renewed annually (expiry dates are on the licence) and which should be available for customers to view at all times. See www.wiltshire.gov.uk for more details.
Aldbourne Taxis are Hackney licenced as 'Wiltshire East.' This means we can accept bookings from anywhere by telephoning 0797 705 9991, but can only be hailed to pick people up in the street within East Wiltshire.
